A new year, and straight into the worst month. I read a comment on social media somewhere suggesting that some of the December festivities should be moved so we have something to enjoy while it's dark and miserable.

There was a storm for which the government used the mobile alert system to issue a stay-at-home warning for. I think this is the first time it's been used for real.
